Tommasi Viticoltori (Tommasi Vintners) is a family viticultural company founded in 1902 and today run by the 4th generation. It’s located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico region, in the northwest part of Verona. From grandfather Giacomo Tommasi’s tiny vineyard, the Tommasi estate has grown over the years and today it extends over 135 hectares of hillside vineyards. The family owns well-situated estates for the production of high quality wines in the D.O.C. regions of Verona, but it is principally acclaimed for its red wines of the Valpolicella Classico region: Amarone, Ripasso, Valpolicella Superiore and Recioto della Valpolicella. The most prestigious wine is the stately Amarone: Tommasi Amarone is intense and of great refinement, smooth and full bodied thanks to the ancient drying process of the grapes and ageing in large oak barrels. Since 1997 Tommasi Vintners has acquired also vineyards in Treviso (for the production of Prosecco), Maremma Toscana and Puglia.
