The release of Malt showcases Woodford Reserve’s ongoing dedication to innovation and flavor by focusing on the adjustment of one of the five sources of flavor - the grain recipe. The result is a pre-Prohibition style Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey that delivers a nutty, sweet profile.

Producent

The site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery was originally founded in 1812 by Elijah Pepper, making it America’s oldest operating bourbon distillery. Often cited as the birthplace of bourbon, it was here in 1838 that Dr James Crow perfected the “Sour Mash” process that is still used in bourbon production today, adding to the distillery’s historical value. All of these years of knowledge, expertise, passion and heritage led to the creation of Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon in 1996, the brainchild of Master Distiller Chris Morris, who still overseas every aspect of this handcrafted bourbon’s creation to this very day. Woodford Reserve is a Super Premium “Small Batch” bourbon and is it the only US Whiskey to use bourbon that is triple distilled in copper stills.
