JOHNNIE WALKER® From its beginning in a corner shop in Kilmarnock in the 1820s, where John Walker used his experience at blending teas and started blending malts, in order to produce consistent good quality whisky, the brand was drawing its inspiration from the world. As years went by, the Walker family then expanded its trade overseas, creating the iconic square bottle to reduce breakages as it travelled by ship. By 1920, Johnnie Walker becomes one of the first of leading global brands established in the in 120 countries over the world.Johnnie Walker was shipped to the 4 corners of the world, but travelled also along with passengers and explorers of the time. Served on the great railways during the age of the Royal Coronation Scot, Johnnie Walker whisky was also one of the first Scotch Whiskies served on the Pan-Am transatlantic flights, and when the Cunard transatlantic cruises were the fastest Atlantic sea voyage, Johnnie Walker was on board too.
