Jack Daniel’s destilleri är Amerikas älsta registerarde destilleri som herr Jack Daniel grundade år 1866. Jack Daniel’s produceras enligt alla kvalitetsstandarder för bourbon whiskey och genomgår ytterligare ett extra steg före whiskeyn läggs att mogna på nya ekfat. Det extra steget är en uppmjukningsprocess som görs genom att låta whiskeyn sipprar igenom tre meter träkol. Pga uppmjukningsprocessen är Jack Daniel’s en Tennessee whiskey och inte en bourbon.

Mr. Jack Daniel established his distillery in 1866, making it America’s oldest registered distillery. He built his distillery in the little town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, in the Cave Spring Hollow because of the abundance of cool, iron-free spring water that was perfect for making his whiskey. We still make our whiskey here today. Jack Daniel’s is crafted according to all of bourbon’s quality standards but undergoes the extra step of mellowing drop by drop through 10 feet of hard sugar maple charcoal. Mellowing the whiskey is a time-consuming and costly extra step, but it gives Jack Daniel’s its smooth character and distinctive taste. It makes Jack Daniel’s a Tennessee Whiskey and not bourbon. After mellowing, Jack Daniel’s whiskey is matured in new, charred American white oak barrels, from which the whiskey draws its spicy oak notes and its rich, golden color.
