Bulleit® Bourbon is inspired by the whiskey pioneered by Augustus Bulleit over 150 years ago. Only ingredients of the very highest quality are used. The subtlety and complexity of Bulleit® Bourbon come from its unique blend of rye, corn, and barley malt, along with special strains of yeast and pure Kentucky limestone filtered water. Due to its especially high rye content, Bulleit® Bourbon has a bold, spicy character with a finish that's distinctively clean and smooth.Medium amber in color, with gentle spiciness and sweet oak aromas. Mid-palate is smooth, with tones of maple, oak, and nutmeg. Finish is long, dry and satiny with a light toffee flavor.

BULLEIT BOURBON®In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit Jr., a veteran of the Vietnam War, lawyer by trade, and husband to Betsy Bulleit (a descendant of Daniel Boone), fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe by starting the Bulleit Distilling Company. Tom was inspired by a family legend around his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit who was known to have made whiskey between 1830-1860, disappearing outside of New Orleans in 1860. Tom has since forged a name for himself within the whiskey industry, including election to the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2009 and appointment by the Governor of Kentucky to the Order of Kentucky Colonels, the highest accolade a Kentucky citizen can receive. Our mash bill is inspired by Tom’s great-great-grandfather - family lore has it he made a bourbon that was 2/3 corn, 1/3 rye, thus Tom started there when he began making bourbon. Our mash bill uses a touch of malted barley, but otherwise respects this inspiration.
