During the late 1940s, after immigrating to the United States, he began his career in Hollywood, working as a waiter for Frank Sinatrai. Jean Leon’s first important project grew out of his friendship with James Dean: to open the most luxurious restaurant in Hollywood, which they named “La Scala.”A TIMELa Scala opened in 1956 and it quickly became a gathering spot for influential actors, directors, producers and politicians. Everyone from Marilyn Monroe, Kennedy, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Paul Newman came to La Scala. La Scala was synonymous with Hollywood glamour, the place to see and be seen.And so he began pursuing his second, great aspiration: to create a perfect wine.A WINEJean Leon began traveling the world in search of an area with specific characteristics that would allow him to produce a signature wine with a unique personality and identity.
