Angelo Molinari first produced his own Sambuca, ‘Molinari Sambuca Extra’ in 1945 and heralded the growth in the popularity of the drink throughout Italy and the rest of the world. His unique formula set it apart from other aniseed based liqueurs and it is currently the largest selling liqueur in Italy. Molinari produce a liqueur of exceptional quality and purity. It is made by carefully combining the oils of the star anise with wheat alcohol, sugar and other closely guarded ingredients. Molinari Extra is the only Sambuca permitted by Italian law to use the term ‘Extra’ because of its premium quality.
