Producent
Brugal grundades i Dominikanska Republiket år 1888 av Don Andrés Brugal. Han föddes i Spanien, men gav sig i tidigt skede ut på äventyr. Först till Kuba för att lära sig konsten av att tillverka rom och efter det bosatte han sig till Puerto Plata i norra delen av Dominikanska Republiket. Hans kunskap inom rom har gått vidare redan i flera generationer. Det varma klimatet gör att ett par års lagring räcker till att rommen har nått liknande karaktär till andra betydligt längre lagrad sprit. De så kallade maestros roneros håller reda på vilka fat skall blandas för att uppnå det perfekta rommet. Brugal är det enda rommet som destillerar, lagrar och buteljerar sitt rom på ön. Brugal är det mest sålda rommet i Karibien.
