Champagne is a wine of legend. The entire history of the Veuve Clicquot Maison is marked by mythical wines, all of which respect the demand for quality that was the force that drove Madame Clicquot. True to this heritage, the Maison is proud of its motto: “Only one quality, the finest”. A short lineage of just 10 Cellar Masters has led this quest for quality, thereby ensuring the continuing of the Veuve Clicquot style: strength and complexity.The label Clicquot offered to go to all four corners of the kingdom to take the fine taste of champagne wines to foreigners. The Maison’s destiny was sealed with these objectives, which were soon achieved during its many expeditions to Italy, then Germany and Switzeland, then Russia in 1780 and the United States in 1782.In 1972, as the Maison is launching its prestigious cuvee la Grande Dame, it also creates the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award, a tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit of Madame Clicquot.
