Mount Gay Eclipse is named after the 1910 total solar eclipse that was visible from Barbados. It is a blend of rums distilled in traditional copper pot and column stills, then matured for 2 years solely in American whiskey casks.Eclipse is the embodiment of the Mount Gay style with notes of fresh vanilla, almond, ripe banana and darkchocolate.

Like every great story, the story of Mount Gay rum starts with a time and a place: Barbados, 1703 - the birthplace of rum, and the origination of over three hundred years of exceptional craftsmanship Sir John, the father of Barbadian rum, was a Barbadian parliament member. He came into the rum business when he took over management of a friend’s plantation and distillery (a friend contrarily named John Sober). Mount Gay’s sustained dedication to the highest standards of rum distillation. Blending is a historically documented fact dating back to that year, 1703. We are the forbearers of the category and it is our story alone that can elevate the status of rum, beyond current perceptions, to its rightful place.
