Champagne Krug
Grande Cuvée Edition 173Producent
Joseph Krug founded the first and only Maison with Champagnes that are all of equal, undisputed quality and distinction. In 1848, his son still being too young to take over the Champagne Maison, Joseph Krug consigned the founding principles of the Maison to posterity in a deep cherry-red notebook. The notebook symbolises the act of recollection, but it also and above all represents the generous legacy made by a visionary to his family and to Champagne itself. It is a unique token that is now presented to guests at Krug’s historic home in rue Coquebert, Reims. The philosophy of Krug craftsmanship is defined by individuality, the art of blending and patience. Every plot is tracked as one single wine. This is the only Maison where the growers taste the wines from each of their plots. Every single year the Maison takes the art of blending to its utmost by recreating Krug Grande Cuvée from an “assemblage” of 120 wines.
